Weekly Challenge--7/30

Happy Monday everyone!  To give you a little kick start to the week, I thought I would give you a fun little challenge to get your creative juices flowing.  This week I would like to challenge you to use either a black and white or sephia photo and layer your title on the photo.  Sometimes, I find in the photo you may have some negative blank space that could use a little pop, or maybe it just seems to make your photo in your layout flow together.  Here is what I created:

Let's see what you all can come up with.  Don't forget to stop on by the board and post up your layout so we can take a look at your fabulous creation!

Happy creating!

Weekly Challenge!

Don't you just love Monday's? You know what today is right? New start to our week, means new Monday "Weekly Challenge", FUN STUFF!

I just love this months kit! My Monday "Weekly Challenge" to you is to add a little color. That's right, easy challenge, but one that can add so much to a layout just by adding one "POP" out color to really make your layout or card (project) stand out just a little more.

In my layout below, I added just a touch of Teal Washi tape to add a little color pop to my layout and it helped add a little more to the layout.

If you do this weeks Monday Weekly Challenge, make sure you add it to the challenge gallery in the Little Red Scrapbook Gallery and post a comment here in this blog post to let us know you did the challenge.

HAPPY Monday!!!! :)

Thursday Theme... It's Summer Baby

and if you are looking to scrapbook the summer or a new baby girl this kit may be for you.... or any girl or it could be perfect for something you are celebrating!

this Theme Kit for July/August is fun, affordable and FULL of product! At this cost, you may want two... lol.

and here is a page of one of my "baby" girls....

the little flyers in the kit were so fun to add to my pages...

the paper butterflies and gems added just the little touches I wanted to add to this sweet page...

I used the dress pattern to add my journaling all over the page...

I started with one of the cut apart tags to start the title and finished it off by mismatching with some letter stickers....

Friday Fun

TGIF!  I'm headed out on a scrappy retreat today, and working with this month's kit certainly had my scrappy mojo flowing...can't wait to keep creating!!  My Friday Fun tip for you this month is to pull some of the lesser colors out of the kit and highlight them with mists, inks or chalks!  I loved the subtle pink in my butterfly tags, and while I cut the butterflies out of the tags, I saved the bits to tuck uner the edges of my photo for little pops of color.  I used glimmer mist to alter the color of the Bo Bunny ribbon rose and those little touches added a nice romantic feel to the layout while adding a little color! I also misted the journaling tag that is tucked into the glassine bag behind the photo.  Another little tip- leave the bag end open so you can slide in and out your journaling...

I've seen some of the DT girls pulling the blues out of the kit in the same way...go check out their ideas in the DT Gallery, too!!  Have a fabulous weekend!

I just can't help it but I love Christmas...and Christmas layouts, especially in July!!  This layout was created by Kelly (Kelzpop) and it has so many fun details from the stitching to the cute little title labels!

Congrats Kelly on being chosen for this weeks "Wow'd Us Wednesday" highlight.

Mid Month DT Gallery Highlights

Once again, our Design Team girls have gone above and beyond and just created the most beautiful layouts and cards for us to enjoy!  If you haven't had a chance to see all of their work, you can visit the July DT Gallery HERE, but these are my favorites from each of the Little Red Ladies.

First up, from Tammy..this just shows you what a little bit of ink and a couple of butterflies can do to add to the kit.  You long term subscribers received Glimmer Mist in a kit last summer and this is a perfect example of what to do with it!  She misted the flowers, the background, the butterflies...and WOW.
That smile- July LRS kit

Next up is Meg,  I just love how she layers her titles into her photos and her embellie clusters are fantastic, they add the perfect movement around the page without taking away from the photo.
Fort Hill, Cape Cod

Karrie shows us how to highlight a portrait studio photo just perfectly...I love how she used the blocks and the accent strip she created in the middle is so cute!!
Nicholas

This one's from me...making good use of my instagram photos..I created a little pocket with the file folders and tucked my journaling in there...

Nikki wow'd me with this layout...I love her addition of a little bit of washi tape, the hand drawn stitching and all the layers!!

Summer Time

And last, but certainly not least, AnnaMarie blew me away with this layout...the addition of the doily (from a previous kit) the way she used the lace trim, fussy cut the butterfly....LOVE.

So there you have the Design Team Highlights for July...be sure to check out the rest of the eye candy in the Gallery and leave us some love!

Friday Fun!

Hi Everyone!  It's my turn to bring a little Friday Fun to LRS.   One of my favorite things about the July Kit is the Fancy Pants Banner Die Cut sheet.

I decided to use the different size banners in a creative way and make sun burst.  It's a fun way to add interest to a page.  Go ahead, give it a try!!

Happy Scrapping!

LRS Card Challenge

Happy Hump Day to all!! :) It's AnnaMarie here with a new Card Challenge! :)

You may have noticed that there are some die-cut sheets (specifically banners and journaling shapes/tags) and beautiful butterfly tags included with this month's GORGEOUS July Main Kit - these die-cuts and tags make it SO easy to finish off that layout or card perfectly. :)

And after seeing Lisa's creative use of the glassine bag tucked behind her lovely July reveal layout HERE, I was also inspired to find a way to incorporate some "green packaging" onto my card. :)

This week's Card Challenge is a two-part challenge :) - the FIRST part is to use some of those awesome die-cuts and/or butterfly tags - AND use three or more on your card. :) In the close-up details below, I've used one butterfly tag, one journaling die-cut (for my sentiment), and three of the banner die-cut pieces. And the SECOND part of the challenge - use some form of "green packaging" on your layout. :) While I also used the same glassine bag that Lisa used on her layout, feel free to use any of the packaging included in your main kit!

SO let's get started with the challenge! :) You can upload your layout to the Little Red Scrapbook Challenge Gallery HERE and link back in a comment on this post as well. I hope you find this challenge a fun one, and that you especially get a chance to play along this week! :)

...And one last thing - if you haven't yet grabbed yourself one of the remaining BEAUTIFUL Embellishment and Ribbon add-ons to complement this lovely kit (also used on my card :)), what are you waiting for??!! You *need* them both! :)

Happy Scrapping!

Weekly Challenge!

It's Monday, so it's time for a new weekly challenge!

One of my favorite techniques for scrapbooking is misting.  My layouts don't quite seem complete unless I have a few drips and dribbles of mist or alcohol inks on them.

For this challenge, I want you use mists and stamps to create a base or background for your layout. Here is my example using the fabulous July LRS kit and add-on Embellishment kit!

Have fun and I can't wait to see what you come up with!  Please upload your layout to the challenge area of the gallery so we can all see what you've created.  Don't forget that you may also be featured in one of our "Wow'd Us Wednesday" spotlights!
